Shifting Castle

Musey - October 27th, 2025

This is my first attempt at a map for VRchat. The idea started as a simple map that I could add to every day.
The main issue was that I didn't establish a super strong foundation. My lighting was bare minimum and the design was clashing a lot. I also didn't have a great idea of how the players would interact with the map. So the layout is realllllly strange to navigate. It just feels like you have to do such a hike to get up to the main platform.

It began very close to home with 2 unmovable towers!

I just kinda added things, which was the point. But they dont really look cohesie at all.
And a spiral staircase looked cool, but was very not fun to navigate in VR. At least for me!

I added some more things, but overall. I was a little annoyed that my first attempt looked kinda weird, so I hadn't touched it for a long time. But I've learned a little more about making VRChat worlds since then!

I also found this bald weirdo....

That was December 2024.......

But now its October 2025!!!

And I've decided to start from scratch with a different approach...

Musey - November 3rd, 2025

I think I started off very sporadically before. I want to have a more cohesive and functional design.
The user experience will be something I think of more.

Specifically I want to think about how the users will discover things in the world.
As we become more skibified, our attention spans shrink. So I need to hook people right away.

Thus, the introductory area will be very important...

My first draft of the new introductory area was freestyle modeled in like an hour before I planned on showing it.

I also included some lights to test out an issue with my lights baking.... (Thank you Torvid for helping me bake.)

The layout was fun but definitely cobbled together.
I want to use natural light to make this area more navigable...
